Milk Tea

A home-style milk tea made by brewing strong black tea and mixing it with milk powder, warm and smooth with the tea and milky flavours blending into one. The tea is left to sit long enough to turn properly strong before the milk goes in.

Milk Tea

In China, the everyday version of milk tea is brewed at home from tea bags and milk powder rather than assembled from the chewy tapioca pearls that street shops sell. Steeping the bags for twenty minutes or more gives a concentrate far too strong to drink on its own, which is exactly the point. Set it up the night before and it is waiting in the fridge for the morning.
