Microwave Poached Egg
A quick breakfast egg with the fragrance of sesame oil, steamed in its own cup with a splash of water. Ready in about two minutes from a cold start.
Adding water turns the microwave into a poor man's steamer, since the steam does the work a pot of water would. Sesame oil at the end is what gives the plain egg its aroma. Covering loosely and standing for a moment after cooking keeps the whites from turning rubbery.
Ingredients
- eggs2 pieces
- drinking water35 ml
- sesame oil3 ml
- salt0.8 g
Directions
- 1
Crack the eggs into a small bowl and poke two holes in each yolk so the heating does not mess up the microwave.

- 3
Next add the salt.
- 4
Finally add the sesame oil.
- 5
Put the bowl of ingredients into the microwave and heat on high for eighty seconds.
- 6
At the end of the time, take the finished dish out using a cloth to protect your hand.
