Scotch Eggs (British Wrapped Eggs)
Soft-boiled eggs wrapped in sausage meat, breaded and fried.
The egg is wrapped in raw sausage meat rather than a slice of sausage, and that distinction is the whole construction: the uncooked sausage meat tightens around the egg as it fries and holds it in place. Fry them to order rather than in a batch ahead, since waiting is what makes the crumb go soft.
