Bacalhau a Bras (Portuguese Salt Cod with Eggs)
Shredded salt cod tossed with onions, straw potatoes and scrambled eggs.
This is the bare version of bacalhau à brás: flaked salt cod, onions, thin straw potatoes and soft egg, with nothing ornamental anywhere on the plate. The potato is cut fine on purpose, so it gives the dish a slight crunch against the soft cod and egg. It is the version most homes make, and the one that improves fastest when reheated.
