Bangers and Mash (British Sausage and Mash)

The name is still a joke about bursting sausages, and the timing matters more than anything else here. Mash made too early sits under the gravy and goes gluey, while sausages left in the pan lose their snap. Get both on the plate together and eat them before they have time to agree with each other.
